Why resolutions usually fail + how to make realistic goals
Have you ever found it easy to change a habit? Probably not, right? Things don’t just change magically overnight. Change takes work, time, energy, effort and motivation — just to name a few important aspects. So why do people think they can change their entire lives by the end of January every year? It’s just not possible.
So often, people try to create lofty goals without centering themselves in reality. These goals then feel impossible to achieve, which usually stops people from even trying to accomplish them. Does this sound familiar?
This year, I’m excited to partner with Kim Hoyos of The Light Leaks to present Real Resolutions: A Goal-Setting Workshop for Creatives. Together, we’re creating space to teach young creatives important and valuable tools to set themselves up for success.
If you’re in the New York and Brooklyn area, I encourage you to come out to the New Women Space on January 11 from 4-7pm to learn key exercises and tips — plus, you’ll get to create your own vision board based on the totally doable goals you just set.
Start the new year off strong!
