16 daily affirmations to add to your self-care routine

I’m aware that the term “affirmations” can scare people off. But isn’t it funny how the concept of speaking nicely to ourselves sounds strange at first? We should prioritize reminding ourselves of good, positive things — the more you tell yourself something, the more you start to believe it, so you might as well make it something nice!

Below are just a few examples of what an affirmation can look like, but I encourage you to develop your own! Maybe you need one when you’re at work, but you need to hear something totally different when you’re in yoga class. Affirmations are powerful when spoken out loud, but they can also help you even if you repeat them in your mind/internally.

If you find yourself needing more constant positive reminders, you can write your affirmation(s) on sticky notes and put them where you’ll see them all the time.
